We drink and we fight, and we love just because.
We are numb, and on the run.
And you're never gonna chase us down.
Sterek AU: Stiles is a chess wunderkind and he’s been sent to learn from the world-famous Grandmaster, Derek Hale. The problem is, Derek is obscenely hot and when he’s around, Stiles finds it pretty hard to concentrate on chess. Who cares about protecting your king when you could be protecting your dick. With a condom. For sex. With Derek.
(follow up to this)
Derek can’t let the image of Stiles playing piano go, so on a whim he buys the most expensive grand piano he can find and puts it in his loft. He still gets it tuned every few months, glides his fingers over the ivories and remembers his mom playing in the Hale house when he was a kid. He finds Stiles playing on it one day, months after he bought it, and somewhere, in the back of his mind, he acknowledges that this was for him all along. He bought that piano for Stiles. Not for himself, or the memories, but for Stiles.
It’s also the moment that Derek realises that he’s in love with a teenager and he’d rather buy a $20.000 instrument than deal with that.
And they do talk and Derek asks Stiles about how he started playing. And Stiles will look like a deer in the headlights at first, before answering and telling Derek about his mom and her passion for music and how she taught him how to play. And Derek will listen with rapt attention, not knowing that Stiles never really talks about his mom, ever.
And it will take another 3 months of Stiles playing the piano for Derek to realise that the songs are for him. That maybe, just maybe, Stiles feels the same about him. And he does.
and then they have sex on the piano. I mean what
Stiles goes camping with his friends in New Mexico after graduation where they befriend a biker gang led by Derek: a guy whom Stiles can’t decide if he will be either relieved or devastated to never see again once their week is up.
"You better hold on," Derek advises. He turns his head slightly to the side, glancing at him over his shoulder. "I don’t want to get in trouble if you get hurt."
"Good idea," Stiles agrees, having to raise his voice in order to be heard over the loud engine. "My dad might press charges. Did I mention he’s the sheriff back home?"
"Maybe we should call this off."
This was supposed to be a fun filled week, but the weather had other plans. Now Stiles is stuck in his hotel and bored out of his mind. His neighbor Derek turns out to be good company, even if he is broody as fuck. With the help of weed and the 24 hour diner across the street, Stiles’ vacation starts looking up. Of course it’s then that he has to go have sex with the guy and develop feelings.
Derek and Stiles get caught in a compromising situation in the Jeep by one of the new deputies in town and now they’re handcuffed outside his dad’s office awaiting their punishment. Surely, Public Indecency is in their immediate future. Neither of them seem to care too much, no matter how mad Derek wants to act about the whole thing.
So I may have written this a couple days ago. We totally were on the same track. [slinks away in awe] Good Idea, Bad Idea on the AO3 (explicit, 1942 words)
Android AU - In the world where technology has no limitations, Derek has one of the most boring jobs. He works in an android factory and every single day is the same. Every day he runs tens of androids through a basic check-up before sending them to be sold. If any of them show any signs of malfunction, he disassembles them and moves to the next one. Simple as that. Or is it? What if an android has a mind of his own? Is being too human a malfunction?
